Sunday again. All is quiet after yesterday's bomb explosion near the Science Museum. 7/7 Jihad has been blamed, of course, although I'm not so sure this time. The Ministry had nothing planned, and it's not their style. Too small, too late in the evening. Maya says, that as well as the resistance, there is at least one other independent group still operational. We have automated the posting sequence to avoid being traced, so I hope that these files get through to Blogger and Twitter. The iPhone has been rigged up to a stable independent solar power source, and it keeps sending the messages to our backup smartphone, so it looks good so far. When I buried it in 2009, I kept the geolocation coded on a piece of paper, so that we could find it again in 2012. Once I was convinced that the messages were genuine, I became convinced of the security risk. After reading this post, I knew that was what I had to do. So every subsequent update will be automated. We follow the days of the week, but don't add the date because we don't want to make it too obvious, although anyone in 2012 could figure out that it is already October. To those who think that this is a work of fiction, I say of course it is. Still you never know. Maybe not. After the hung Parliament of 2010, the New Labour deal with the BNP, made following the breakdown of talks with the Tories on forming a national government, lasted just long enough for the Party to prepare for the change of power. We all call it the Machtergreifung, named after Hitler's power grab in January 30, 1933. You would be amazed at the number of closet fascists that were hanging out in New Labour, just waiting for the chance to help to form the Party. The Chairman moved fast, and before anybody knew it, the Ministry had control of the media, and the ID, DNA and internet databases were joined together in Sector 666. Total control, subtle yet effective. Each new regulation, in the name of security and progress, was not challenged by anyone after the suppression of the food riots in 2010. Just after Christmas, 2010, ration cards were introduced, which avoided any further serious food shortages. The country was put on a wartime production footing, and every piece of spare land was devoted to growing food. Little by little, people were relocated to the cities, and the villages were cleared, and mobility restrictions were introduced. The speed of change was breathtaking, and my job in the Ministry was, and still is, to obliterate or alter all records of the past, in keeping with the Party line. We are losing our history. Westminster Abbey was renamed the Temple of Peace and the Houses of Parliament have been closed for renovation since last year, for an indefinite period. All enemies are simply called Organized Crime, which is reputed to be led by the Cabal of Zion, headed by a sinister Mr Crowley, who seems to be quite smart, as nobody has ever seen him or heard his voice, yet he controls just about every illegal activity in the country. Prison has been replaced by "corrective therapy" although the regime is in reality much harder than ever before. Once in the "therapy"system it is seems almost impossible to get out again. Those who wish to leave the country have to sign away their rights as citizens before they go, and they are never allowed to return. Ferries to Ireland were closed last year, and Heathrow and Gatwick are now military airfields. There is no way out or in, except for the exiles. They are sent to the Outland, or Scotland as it used to be known. The triple wall on the border makes sure that they can never return. We are part of a giant social experiment, and only the Chairman has a roadmap.
